Unlike medical dental procedures performed in a veterinary hospital under general anesthesia, anesthesia-free cleaning focuses on visible tooth surfaces using patient, stress-free handling techniques.

Every pet owner wants clean teeth and fresh breath for their dog. Anesthesia-free cleaning is an optional cosmetic service that helps remove visible surface plaque and tartar above the gumline on calm dogs.

It is important to understand its boundaries:

• It is performed while your dog is awake and comfortable. • It addresses visible tooth surfaces above the gumline. • It does not treat dental disease, deep periodontal pockets, or subgingival calculus. • It does not replace an annual veterinary dental exam or professional dental cleaning under anesthesia.

If our groomer notices signs of loose teeth, bleeding, redness, oral masses, or signs of pain, we will gently stop and recommend following up with your veterinarian.
